“We cannot see things that stare us in the face until the hour comes that the mind is ripened.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
I know better than to get excited about something that only happens once. Yet, somehow, it will be hard to fall asleep tonight.
I was talking to Pearlsky a bit more than usual tonight. She was doing her normal not-seeming-to-be-paying-attention thing. Then I did something, a test, that I have not done for a long time.
Pearlsky, will you look at me? Look at my eyes.
And you know what? She did. I stared into Pearlsky’s eyes for the first time ever. For a legitimate amount of time.
In celebration, a new look (in progress) for the blog.
That’s very kool and the gang. You know that Lao Tzu guy has something to say about that I think. Sleep well my friend. When you finally SO get some ZZZ’s.
I can only imagine how fulfilling that felt. Congratulations.
If it takes my breath away, I can’t imagine how you’re doing! Sometimes simplicity is best: I’m glad.
That’s just wonderful, in the true sense of the word. You are so deserving of something like this to happen. Hope she learns how to stare you down!
OMG! This is huge! A world has opened. She. is. there.!
That’s wonderful! She heard your request and complied appropriately. There’s a lot behind that seemingly simple action, including memory and decision making. That’s huge. I’m very happy for you.
Wow. I can’t even imagine how that felt. I know you are trying to keep your hopes down, but *I* hope it’s the beginning of something.
Mazel Tov!
How wonderful; I’m really happy for you man.
Exciting stuff! Eye contact is weird – so much in such a small thing.
This will bring you down a little: http://sixyearmed.com/?p=938 there’s another busybody school nurse out there!
And, her eyes said she loves you.
Happy for you both.
Awesome!!
YAY, good stuff!
also, I like the new blog layout. Seems to load faster too… did you get a new server?
What a wonderful way to end a day. I haven’t a feeling she will continue to surprise us all…
That was supposed to say” have”…damned spell check!
Dang man, that’s awesome. I can imagine you wanted to shout from the roof tops.
Mazel tov!
I just read this post and that is fantastic news! Gives me goose bumps!
