Gap / Old Navy / Banana Republic is (are?) having a 30% off and free shipping sale today. What are the odds that any of the hundreds of dollars of new wardrobe I just bought Pearlsky will fit? Or match?

If you were “regular” guy, I’d be saying…oh jesus…but then since you’ve been doing this for years, I’ll settle for “oy”. 😉
As much as I would like a job, I don’t think that is one I want, thank you. Do you ever get help with that kind of thing? I’ve often wondered what Single Dad’s do in that type of situation, even with their normal female kids. Though I guess in that case they could tell you what they wanted to wear…shit never mind, I’m a total asshole and an idiot, I’ll sit back down and shut up.
I have faith in you, SD.
Monkey’s dad once dressed him in a blazer, tee, sweatpants, and dress loafers – ’nuff said. No one will throw stones if Pearlsky’s shirt and pants don’t match perfectly.
I need a part time job, and I’d love to be your personal shopper.
Seriously.
Zappos. Free returns with a year to decide.
What you need are Garanimals for Adults. Mybe there’s a market out there…
I’m sure you’ve done a fine job, SD. I find it completely endearing that this issue has become a blog post-you’re a wonderful dad. But in the future, if fashion choices for Pearlsky are causing you additional stress, please consider shooting an email w/ links to one of your female readers (sorry guys, no offense intended). I know I would be happy to help. Hugs.
Wow, who told you about the sale? You must have an amazing friend out there who makes sure you’re always kept apprised of these things.
By the way — this is it?? We wait how many weeks for a post, and this is all you have for us? Sheesh, SD, cough out something better.
Love ya 🙂
You were wanting some wailing and gnashing of teeth, but instead we got wardrobe co-ordination angst 😀
I saw this post, and my first thought was, “This doesn’t sound like Single Dad; this sounds like something that Miriam would write.” Miriam, how come you didn’t tell ME about the wonderful sale?
In answer to your questions, Single Dad:
Chance of them matching: 98%
Chance of them fitting: 8%
LOL…don’t worry about the matching. My teen daughter insists on wearing mis-matched socks. She says it isn’t cool to have them match!
Glad to see you post again. I was getting worried.
Our whole family is fashion-challenged. We do not judge.
Those stores usually have some pretty cool stuff 🙂 I’m sure Pearlsky will look awesome! As a 22 year old female who adores shopping, if you ever need advice or anything, send me an email or post a comment to my blog 🙂
I am sure you did a great job! In fact Pearlsky will probably stand out in the crowd because everything matches! You need to drive my your local High School, nothing they wear matches, even own to their socks which are purposefully mismatched!
We usually go with Target and Sears stuff, but the GAP is known for all those cutsie matching clothes. Well, especially for little ones. I’m sure you styled her out appropriately. I love Banana Republic! You can’t go wrong. I’m going to have to check that discount out …for me!
Fashion show, please!!
(P.S., I’m sure you did great on the outfits!)
Who cares if they match, you brought her clothes for some dads that’s a total no go zone, be proud, your awesome!!
As long as purple was included, you did fine 😉
Just stopping by to say you are a great dad, everyday.
So…Either things are busy but calm and you just haven’t had time to post, or you are going through some “stuff” you don’t want to share, or all hell is breaking loose. Hope it’s the first one. Miss you.
Miss your posts. Hope you are having a great summer and are just too busy to post!
By the way how did all the clothes work out?
