Home is where you park your wheelchair
Only one comment on the previous post so far … several emails about it though. You think it’s tough to come up with a comment, try living the situation! Hence …
I’m tired. And you know what, I am serious about what I am about to say …
I want to run away. Far. No forwarding address. Just run away.
Now, before you call child protective services, I did not say I want to run away alone. No, I’ll take Pearlsky.
Can you say ROAD TRIP!
I want this …
Click HERE and if the link is dead then click HERE.
I will retrofit it with a lift and WE ARE OUT OF HERE.
Call those folks, tell them you know a wonderful young lady who really needs this. I’ll go pick it up. Damn, I’ll even shave my legs.
Scary part? I am serious.
Whoa, whoa, whoa- slow down! … there will be WiFi so you can keep us updated, right?
But seriously, I don’t blame you and if you are serious about it, I think with some good planning, it’s a great idea.
Of course we will be on line … doesn’t every MacDonald’s have WiFi? Besides, we are going to visit all of you on our trek …
First stop: New York City! Honk HONK!
You guys are absolutely welcome here.
I took an unplanned 5 day 7 state trip a couple weeks ago for a funeral the reason was not a pleasant one but we extended the trip to see some more family and it became a much needed refresher. Sometimes I just need a break from everyday life.
I’m coming too. Seems as good a plan as any.
I vote ROAD TRIP!
Just looked for a w/c accessible RV to rent a few days ago myself and realized how near impossible it would be. Strongly in favor of you acquiring RV, retrofitting it, traveling a while in it and then renting it out to your blog readers 😉
Hell, we’ll pick you up!
Zoey’s wheelchair is very, very tiny. I barely take up much room myself. Can I come along? But perhaps that would defeat the purpose of escaping from it all.
Seriously though, ask my entire family, I dream of owning a motorhome. It actually would be one of the first things I purchased if I came into some money. But I am a little old school and maybe would need an Airstream. A friend of mine surprised her husband with one that was remodeled for their anniversary and I thought that was the coolest thing ever.
I guess what I am trying to say in a very long, round about way. I understand and am right there with you.If not literally, definitely in solidarity.
With an Airstream we won’t be able to hear the kids in the back. Double edge sword, eh?
I spoke of much the same thing today on my own blog. I am thinking more like Heather, though — a funky AirStream. I will meet you somewhere in the middle of the country?
Now don’t go overboard – there is NO NEED to shave your legs!
I was told by a reliable source that adaptive RV’s are available to rent in the US.
Looks like you can start a posse…..if you swing by Long Island we’d love to join!
Woot! We just bought a campervan as in like 5 weeks ago. Did our first short trip and overnighter with the family a week after we got it, my Autie coped pretty well really, few headbutts to tell us he was not happy at bed time (I imagine he didn’t know what was going on and wanted to go home), but melatonin and cuddles got him off to sleep, and he was very happy the next day. He likes sitting in the front while we drive. I recommend 🙂
When you come back to TX, you can guest park your RV right next to ours.
We know a couple who have their rig fitted with a lift, too.
Better hire a boat to load the van on so you can stop by here in Australia 🙂
