We made a grown man cry
It was a beautiful day today so I went for a long walk with my daughter today. We went to the new pharmacy, CVS. I figured I would introduce her to the pharmicist so he would have an idea what all the crazy meds are about. He came out from the back and I introduced

Incensed – not a pleasant smell …
Understand that the 1 on 1 aide that my daughter has at day camp is the same twit nanny that I fired a few weeks ago from the house. I really figured that with all the others around she could only do a good job. Also know that the camp director’s sister lives with him

So, my daughter is out of her Trazodone (non-essential yet very important) and her Depakene (as essential as it gets) will run out this weekend. She needs the brand name version of Depakene, the generic just does not work as well, and for that the insurance company needs a “P.A.” (Prior Approval) from the doctor.

Being an author is having angels whisper in your ear – and devils, too. ~Graycie Harmon
Remembering that my daughter cannot talk, walk, stand, point, confirm, do anything asked, do anything intentional … well, you get the picture. She goes to a summer camp that is barely acceptable. Moronic medical team of the year award goes to …
We get an appointment mid morning today for 2:00 as an “urgent care” visit in the adolescent clinic and arrive at 1:50. Because we were not called in until 2:55, we missed an important blood draw during her medicine trough, we missed her timely feeding (so she was getting cranky), she got her scheduled meds

The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it. *
What are your goals for your daughter? The ultimate question from hell. Asked at every early intervention meeting, every IEP meeting. What a truly messed up question. The “goal” of the question is nebulous … but the reason for it is clear. Empowerment. Frankly, that’s crap. Don’t try to “empower” me, just fix my daughter.

Thank you, S.T. and J.P.
I have mentioned that my pharmacy has abruptly been closed. My family has had at least 15 prescriptions a month filled at the old one for over 10 years, and never an error. At my request, the closed pharmacy transferred two prescriptions to another independent pharmacy in the area. The first one was for Diastat.
